Wow, what a roller coaster - - did you follow this story?

Tues July 26: It was announced on Facebook by "his representatives" on Tuesday that Tony Dow had died. The story was picked up by news organizations around the world but he hadn't actually died! "His representatives" sent out an apology.

Weds July 27: Dow's son and manager announced that Dow had died. For real.

He was 77 and had liver cancer. He had a varied career in television as a director and producer and also had some success as a sculptor, but to those of us of a certain age he was stuck in the role of Wally Cleaver, Beaver Cleaver's older brother on *Leave It To Beaver.* Here's a montage of clips that the NY Times included in their obit. He was so darn cute.
