The Best Actor winner for 2013 was Matthew McConaughey in The Dallas Buyers Club. I didn't really go for that movie or his performance in it, I've never been a fan of his brand of Texas laidback machismo. Thank you, no. I thought the more impressive performance was by the great Bruce Dern in Nebraska. Such a quiet, strong, honest performance, the summation of a long career in front of the camera. And he's still doing his thing, bless his heart!
