CDA: Michael Madsen

My brother Howard wrote me about the death of Michael Madsen. I’m 57 so 67 seems pretty damn young. He’s best known for a juicy supporting role in Thelma and Louise and for a handful of meaty supporting roles in Tarantino movies.

Howard and my brother Patrick were ahead of the curve and saw Tarantno’s first movie, Reservoir Dogs, in the theater. I can only imagine how squirmy this scene must have been (don’t watch if you’re squeamish):

His NY Times obit was interesting. I’d forgotten that Virginia Madsen was his sister.

I had two previous clips in mind when I was choosing the clip for this CDA, both from Kill Bill Vol 2. One was his scene with his boss at the strip club, the other with Darryl Hannah in his trailer. But on watching those clips I saw that in both cases it’s the OTHER person who’s the star of the scene. And isn’t that a great actor? Or at least a mensch…
