My brother Howard alerted me to the death of Lamont Dozier, who died the other day at the age of 81. I didn't know his name but certainly know his work. He was part of the Motown songwriting team known as H-D-H, the Hs being brothers Brian and Eddie Holland. The three of them wrote "Heat Wave," "Baby, I Need Your Loving," and 10 of the 12 number one hits by the Supremes, including "Stop In the Name of Love" and my favorite Supremes song, "You Keep Me Hangin' On."
