Her character, Ruth, is supposed to be the wise-cracking second fiddle to the pretty younger sister, Eileen. But through Russell's force of personality (and the way the show is written) she's the undisputed star of the show.

I don't care of how the audio toggles between live and canned in this video but it's a fun document of Russell in the role. I hope she was wearing a serious pair of shorts under that dress.
