CDA x 2: Koenig and St. James
I read in the NY Times about the death of Walter Koenig at the age of 90. He'll always be remembered as Chekhov on Star Trek. I read in his Times obit that he was added in the second season to appeal to youngsters - - Kirk, Spock, and Bones were all mature gentlemen and they needed a cute young guy. They even gave him a Monkees-esque mop top to seal the deal. He was pretty damn cute!
And my brother Howard alerted me to the death of Susan St. James at the age of 80. She's probably best remembered to people my age for Kate and Allie but I'll always think of her as Rock Hudson's wife on McMillan and Wife! What a horrible title.
She was super cute, she was a real pro, she knew what she was doing, and her VOICE! I always loved her slightly raspy voice.
McMillan and Wife:
And Kate and Allie. The laugh track gives me hives!
