Diva / Mensch pair for July 7, 2021

We're continuing our European tour with a trip to Austria this month. Our first pair:

Diva: Sacher torte

Mensch: Demel torte

Sacher and Demel are two dueling coffee shops in Vienna. They each have a rich chocolate torte as their signature dish. The Sacher is better known, it's the one many tourists feel they need to check out when they're in town. The Demel is the one that locals prefer, it's more authentic. But looking at the photos below, they both look like divas to me!

My mom and I were in Vienna in 2015 as part of a Viking River Cruise. We met a friend of a friend, a lovely young woman named Gretl, at Demel. You can read the whole story here:
