I was shocked to see the news of the death of Ozzy Osbourne at the age of 76. Shocked because I had just used a song of his for my Fabulous Friday feature on July 11th. Ozzy would never have gotten within a mile of my website but I had just read an interesting article in the New York Times about his final performance.

Heavy metal is not my jam but apparently Ozzy and Black Sabbath were hugely influential on at least one generation of musicians who followed them and were inspired by them. Lars Ulrich, the drummer for Metallica, inducted Black Sabbath into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. He said in his speech, "When it comes to defining a genre within the world of heavy music, Sabbath stand alone.”

I did a YouTube search for "Ozzy Osbourne songs" and found this nice little ballad.
