My brother Howard alerted me to the death of two people. First, electronic composer Éliane Radigue, who died at the age of 84. As of this writing the internet hasn't learned for her death but Howard heard from a friend of hers. Never heard of her but Howard calls her an "amazing electronic composer." It takes one to know one.
I read up a bit on her on (yes, what else) Wikipedia. She started doing electronic music in 1955! My mom was still in high school!
Here's an hour-long track from her album Trilogie de la Mort:
Robert Carradine at the age of 71. His death was announced by his brother Keith Carradine - - Robert had been battling bipolar disorder for many years and died by suicide.
He was part of an impressive acting family: the son of the great character actor John Carradine, brother of Keith Carradine, half brother of David Carradine on his father's side, and half brother of Michael Bowen on his mother's side. I had forgotten that Martha Plimpton was the daughter of Keith Carradine - - that makes her Robert's niece (natch).
I know I'm deep as a dime but based on this picture he's the most classically handsome guy in that family:

His list of credits is all over the map. Let's focus on the 70s: he was in two important dramas (Mean Streets and Coming Home) and also some serious schlock (Orca, Massacre at Central High, The Pom Pom Girls).
He appears to be best known for two roles. He played one of the nerds in Revenge of the Nerds. A daring choice for a handsome guy! His Wikipedia page said that he prepped for the movie by going to the University of Arizona during rush week - - he wasn't selected by any fraternity, which cemented his sense that he was right for the part. Ha! Here's a compilation of him doing his distinctive laugh:
I need to see this movie! I can't believe I made it out of the 80s without seeing it. That and The Goonies are being moved to the top of my list.
And he played the father of the title character on Lizzie McGuire.
