Fabulous Friday: "Cherish"

One of the greatest songs EVER! Really and truly, across the divide from pop to classical, this song is extraordinary music. The moment that kills me is in the bridge, at 1:45 in this video - - "Oh I could say I need you / But then you'd realize / That I want you / Just like a thousand other guys..." All of those words are sung on a single, unwavering pitch, and the harmonies swirl around that one note in such a daring, inventive, expressive way. I'm invoking the name Franz Schubert!
