Continuing with our Austrian theme:

Diva: Mozart

Mensch: Haydn

Mozart wrote music that was brilliant and often just plain gorgeous. Haydn also wrote a lot of extraordinary music but I think of him more as an innovator - - he more or less invented the string quartet and the symphony. He was one of the first composers to really recognize the potential of the viola.
