I've fallen behind on my CDAs, my apologies. Here goes:

Anthony Head, died at 72. We first saw him on a series of Nescafe commercials but I fell in love with him on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He also had a juicy recurring role on Ted Lasso. Here's a highlight reel of his work on Buffy. Is it time for me to watch that whole series again...?

My brother Howard alerted me to the death of David Hockney, age 88. He was one of the most celebrated painters of the second half of the 20th century. I love his paintings but was even more stunned by his work as a set designer in the opera house - - I saw his productions of The Magic Flute at the Met and Turandot in Chicago. His use of color in Turandot was beyond belief.

Howard also alerted me to the death of Gene Shalit, TV film critic who died at the age of 100. Is "ubiquitous" the word I'm looking for? He was an icon of my youth with his sassy wit, big hair, and big mutstache. Here he is losing it over a story being told by my beloved Carol Channing:

And last but not least, a name I imagine my brother Howard doesn't know, costume designer Albert Wolsky. He won two Oscars, one for Bugsy and one for a favorite movie of mine, All That Jazz. I've watched this number maybe a hundred times.
