CDA: Jane Birkin

My brother Howard alerted me to the death of Jane Birkin at the age of 76. I first knew her from her supporting roles in two divine Agatha Christie movies of the 80s, *Death on the Nile* and *Evil Under the Sun.* She's better known as a singer, the muse of French singer/songwriter of Serge Gainsbourg, and, as the New York Times put it in the title of her obituary, as a "fashion inspiration." Here she is on CBS Sunday Morning talking about the origin of the Hermès Birkin bag. Ironically she says that might be the way she'll end up being referred to her in her obituary. And she says the word "obituary" is such a delightful English way.
