CDA: Jacques d'Amboise

Sigh, the great Jacques d'Amboise died the other day at the age of 86. He was a major star at the New York City Ballet, an inspiration to George Ballanchine, and partner to many Ballanchine ballerinas. I'm lucky to have seen him onstage once, in a cameo role at NYCB a few years ago. Here's a lovely tribute to him, from his Kennedy Center honor. The film is introduced by Suzanne Farrell and the initial dance number is done by two of his children, Christopher and Charlotte:
