Sigh, the great Jacques d'Amboise died the other day at the age of 86. He was a major star at the New York City Ballet, an inspiration to George Ballanchine, and partner to many Ballanchine ballerinas. I'm lucky to have seen him onstage once, in a cameo role at NYCB a few years ago. Here's a lovely tribute to him, from his Kennedy Center honor.
