Jo Sullivan Loesser is best known as being the wife of Frank Loesser, who wrote the music and lyrics for *Guys and Dolls* and *The Most Happy Fella.* She and Loesser met when she played the lead in *The Most Happy Fella* and she more or less gave up her career when they got married. But then she started performing again when he died! Here she is singing "Falling In Love" from *The Chocolate Soldier* with Peter Palmer. Her voice is cute, but his makes me shudder.

She was 91 when she died - - John Singleton was only 51! He's best known as the director of *Boyz N the Hood,* but I'm a bigger fan of his 2000 movie *Shaft.*
