I'm rebranding this feature on my website yet again - - one of my most devoted readers, my beloved Aunt Kat, convinced me that the term "Celebrity Death Watch" is morbid and tacky (my words, she was more diplomatic). So it will henceforth be known as the Celebrity Death Alert!

You might not know the name Hal Blaine, but you certainly know his music. He was a drummer with The Wrecking Crew, a crackerjack set of studio musicians in Los Angeles in the 60s and 70s. They played for simply everybody. If you have streaming Netflix, you MUST see the documentary about them, *The Wrecking Crew.* It's one of my favorite documentaries ever, it's just marvelous.
