"Baubles, Bangles, and Beads" is a song from *Kismet,* and like all of the music in that show, the tune is stolen from Borodin. I listened to a little of the string quartet it was stolen from, but the song is so far removed from the source, it's not really worth sharing. I'll close with the first person I heard do this song, Sarah Vaughan. She does it with the same approach as Peggy Lee, but with less gauze and more swing. Peggy is a kitten, Sarah is a full-grown pussycat.
