Fabulous Friday - - "Let go"

I'm renaming this feature - - I decided Video Vendredi was a little too polyglot, even for me. So now I'm calling it Fabulous Friday. Because Friday is nearly always fabulous, no?

Today we have "Let go" from a 1969 Mitzi Gaynor television special. A masterpiece of the genre! The song, the choreography, the camera work - - this is the whole showbiz universe of 1969, frozen in amber. Her gown is by the one and only Bob Mackie.

If you haven't seen it already, you should check out *Mitzi Gaylor: Razzle Dazzle! The Special Years,* which is where I first saw this number. Rex Reed is one of the people interviewed, and he said something along the lines of, "A spangle was never more spangly than when worn by Mitzi Gaynor!" He also said, "Every year, for ten years, the world DEMANDED a new Mitzi Gaynor television special!"
