I have to confess I didn't know the name Johnny Nash, but I definitely know his signature song, "I Can See Clealry Now." Such a sweet voice.
And Eddie Van Halen! I was never a big fan of the 80s hair bands, but I always liked Eddie Van Halen's smile and how could you not be knocked out by his talent. I never knew that he played the guitar solo in the middle of "Beat It!" Savannah Guthrie told a cute story on the Today Show yesterday, that some kids were in a record store when "Beat It" was the hot song. They were playing that song in the store and the kids all stopped to listen to the guitar solo. One of them said, "Listen to that loser, trying to sound like Eddie Van Halen." And Eddie himself walked over to them and said, "It IS ME!" Like so many stories, who cares if it's true?
